Lake Metroparks BioClub is a nationally recognized organization through the National Association of Biology Teachers. Students will participate in a wide variety of activities and service projects that allow them to explore the biological world around them. BioClub meets every third Tuesday of the month (January 16 - Dec 17, 2024) from 6:30-8:30 at various Lake Metroparks locations. Have a little one at home with a big imagination? Are they between the ages of 5 &6 and ready to attend a park program on their own? This 3-session series will nurture their creativity all summer long as we blend imaginative play with nature exploration: a magical combination! Registration fee includes all three sessions June 28th, July 26th and August 30th for one child. Children must be potty trained.

Whoo, whoo, whoooo is in the night sky? Take a closer look into Ohio's owls. Discover where they live and their special adaptations. While we hike, don't be surprised if the owls talk back!

Come explore Lake Metroparks Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park beach! Campers will enjoy themed activities each week, as well as everyday beach activities such as swimming, sandcastle building and a visit to the local lighthouse. All camps take place at Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park. Camp meets Monday through Friday.

While at camp, learn about cows, horses, and many of our farm animals. We will explore the gardens and woods at Farmpark as well as do some hiking. Games and crafting are part of the fun. Camp meets for a three-day session.

At this camp, fish at a variety of locations, use spin and fly rods and tie flies! Includes a trip on a Lake Erie charter (weather permitting). Camp meets Monday through Friday.

Wild Critters camp is for young Animal Lovers! Enjoy up-close animal encounters, wildlife and nature activities, hiking, and more! Each day will have a different wild animal theme.

Lake Metroparks is pleased to offer the Spirit of America Youth Boating program to graduating seventh-grade students this summer at Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park. Spirit of America is free, meets national safe boating standards and gives students hours of hands-on boating experience in varied craft. Most importantly, Spirit teaches youth safe habits around the water. The program is also fun and allows students to make friends while gaining confidence.

Students will learn power boating, paddling, sailing skills and complete the Ohio Boaters Education Course. Students must attend OBEC on May 4 and 11, 9am to 4pm, and must achieve 70% on a multiple-choice test to attain OBEC certification. Testing accommodations such as readers and extra time are available upon request.

Program time is split between on-water and classroom. Expect students to be on or in the water each day during the on-water/water safety portion of this program.

Upon registration, you will receive an email receipt. With the receipt, look for a parent information packet and authorization form. The authorization form must be filled out and returned with the student on the first day of class.

All Aboard! Learn how trains work through hands-on activities and stories. enjoy a train ride after. For safety reasons, pregnant women are not permitted to ride the trains. Children must sit on their own, no lap sitting permitted.

Are you up for an archery adventure? Come and do archery on our 3D range that runs along, within and across the creek at the Environmental Learning Center. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must be registered, including adults.
