Kickstart your journey with the exquisite Dresden Plate motif, where you will create your unique "gardens." Craft as many blooming flowers as your heart desires, allowing you to use those special fabrics you've been stashing away, as each flower showcases a blend of four different fabrics. Once you have honed your floral design skills, explore the perfect backdrop. If you possess a neglected quilt top, it could be the ideal canvas for your garden, or for those who prefer a seamless background, perhaps a whole cloth option. Alternatively, create a contemporary, improvisational backdrop by sewing together your fabric scraps. As your garden flourishes, employ a 1-inch bias tape maker for crafting delicate stems, and use freezer paper to shape one-of-a-kind leaves for each flower. Delve into computer-aided leaf design for that flawless finishing touch. The true enchantment of this class lies in the exchange of ideas and designs among fellow students.
